Discover Acts: A New Bible Study Begins September 23
Our Acts study begins September 23
Join Clint and Michael for a new Further Faith Bible study of Acts, beginning Wednesday, September 23, at 2 PM Central. This short trailer introduces a book that offers a sustained glimpse into the life of the early church. Together, we will follow the gospel's spread from Jerusalem into new communities and consider the challenges the first Christians faced. Their stories, decisions, and struggles offer much to reflect on as we live our faith today. Meet with us Monday through Thursday at 2 PM Central for conversation and a verse-by-verse study, and feel free to read a chapter or two of Acts before we begin.

Discussion Guide
As we prepare to study Acts together, consider what you hope to learn from the earliest Christian communities. These opening questions offer a starting point for reflection before the series begins.
- What interests you most about the lives of the first Christians?
- What questions do you bring to a study of Acts?
- How might learning about the early church shape the way you understand your own congregation?
- What challenges do you think Christians today may share with those first communities?
- What could help you make time for studying Scripture with others?
[00:00:00] Michael: Hi, friends. It is great to be back with you. We are looking forward to kicking off another study here at First Presbyterian Church and the Further Faith online daily Bible study. We're grateful for the fall and getting back into it. We wanted to just quick drop in, let you know that we're going to be studying the book of Acts. It is an amazing book because it gives us really the only sustained glimpse at the life of the early church. And it's going to give us an opportunity as we study through it together to see how the gospel from that very first generation of disciples went from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, and to fan out and to spread out. It's an amazing study. There's a lot in it. History, stories. There's also theology that's embedded throughout the whole. It's certainly a primer that everyone who's a Christian at some point would want to go through, and we're excited to start it together.
[00:00:55] Clint: Yeah, we hope you can join us. We will be starting that next Wednesday. We will meet every day Monday through Thursday at 2 p.m. We'll run about a 20 or 30 minute some discussion and some banter on the front end and then 15, 20 minutes of just getting into the text going verse by verse. Hope you can join us. The Book of Acts is an outstanding book. It's unique. There really isn't anything else in the New Testament like it. It's a wonderful opportunity to look at how those first Christians, our ancestors, our earliest ancestors in the Christian faith,
[00:01:33] Clint: how they navigated problems, what those problems were, how they organized, what they did, the struggles that they faced. It's a really neat snapshot of the early church life, and ironically, I think very, very helpful for modern Christians as well.
[00:01:50] Michael: So there's not much you need to do. If anything, you might want to read a chapter or two of Acts as we look forward to getting started, but we will see you Wednesday at 2 o'clock, and we'll jump in from there. Thanks, everybody. Thanks.
